Overview of ultrasonic sensors

- Nov 14, 2017 -

Ultrasonic sensors are transducers that convert ultrasonic signals into other energy signals (usually electrical signals). Ultrasound is a mechanical wave whose vibration frequency is higher than 20KHz. It has the characteristics of high frequency, short wavelength, small diffraction phenomenon, especially good directivity, capable of becoming directional radiation and so on. Ultrasound on liquid, solid penetration ability, especially in the sun opaque solid. Ultrasonic encountered impurities or interface will produce a significant reflection of reflected into an echo, hit the living body can produce Doppler effect. Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in industry, defense, biomedical and so on.

The heart of an ultrasonic probe is a pressure ultrasonic transducer in its plastic jacket or metal jacket

Chip. There are many materials that make up the wafer. The size of the wafer, such as its diameter and thickness, varies, so the performance of each probe is different and we must know its performance before use.
